Every summer, I like to participate in a few vendor events as they provide a fantastic opportunity to connect with local communities, network, and introduce my children's books to new audiences. Vendor events are especially beneficial for authors, as they offer a unique platform to showcase their work, receive direct feedback, and build a loyal readership. These events can also lead to valuable collaborations and increased visibility in the literary community.

My goal is usually to attend around five vendor shows each summer, although I got a late start this year. However, I did have the chance to be a vendor at the Charles H. Wright Museum. This event was hosted by Remembering Cherubs, a nonprofit resource center serving those who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss, primarily in Detroit and Southeast Michigan. They offer various programs and services that connect grieving parents to supportive networks. Charles Wright Museum Vendor Event
Overall, it was a great event with a positive atmosphere and strong community engagement.
Ps if you are going to do a vendor event in summer don't be like me make sure you have a canopy, that August sun was beaming!
